Lemon Tree Hotel, Vadodara |
Vadodara or Baroda whatever you might call it, for me it will always be the place where my maternal grandparents lived, and where I spent my summer holidays, discovering new things and eating the most delicious of dishes. So I decided to spend these summer holidays as well there, the only difference would be that now I am married and have kids of my own. Taking them to my roots will help them understand and appreciate family and value more than they do now, so this is an exercise in familial bonding. Also I am dying for some Gujarati food. I started looking for Hotels in Vadodara near Railway Station, because it was near that place that my grandparents used to live. Also, one plus would be that I would not have to worry about getting stuck in the city’s famous traffic jams, while hours away from my hotel.
I came up with Lemon Tree Hotel, which seemed like a good choice, since they cater to families and business travelers alike. So I bundled up my gang, and we got on a train to Vadodara, where a taxi was waiting to take us to the hotel, and later for some sightseeing. Baroda Hotels near Railway Station cannot get any better than this, since after a hearty welcome and a speedy check-in, we got welcome drinks and were asked about our itinerary very politely, offering us advice about finding the best jalebi or khakra in town. This is not something you see everyday, so I must say I liked the hotel a lot.
